HAZARD, Ky. (FOX 56) — School district leaders announced on Friday that Perry County Central High School (PCC) had been placed under lockdown Friday morning as law enforcement investigated a "student matter."
The original announcement was posted on Facebook around noon on Sept. 12 by the Perry County School District. Officials later explained that the lockdown had been issued when a student reported "the possibility of another student having a weapon" to administrators.
Perry County district staff emphasized that students were safe, although they did not specify that the lockdown had been lifted.
