The classic film, "The Sound of Music" is making a return to movie theaters from Sept. 12 to 17.

The von Trapps, the family at the center of the movie, eventually left their home in Austria and settled in Stowe, Vermont

The movie features famous songs like "Edelweiss," "My Favorite Things," "Climb Ev’ry Mountain" and "Do-Re-Mi"

If your family is one of those which enjoys gathering around the TV during the winter holidays and watching the classic 1965 film , "The Sound of Music," you may want to catch an early screening of the film this year.

That's because the movie is returning to cinemas starting today, Friday, Sept. 12.

Vermonters will be especially interested, as the von Trapp family (portrayed in the film) eventually moved to the Green Mountain State from Austria.
