The parks and recreation director for a town in South Carolina has been charged with embezzlement of public funds.

The Town of Latta requested the SLED investigation.

According to an arrest warrant, between January and March, Bourgoin was the Town of Latta Parks and Recreation Director.

The warrant said he managed and collected cash and electronic payments of money intended for the Town of Latta through its sports programs.

The warrants said Bourgoin did not properly account for the disposition of the money or deposit all of the money in the Town of Latta designated bank account.
