CANTON, N.Y. (WWTI) - The boil water advisory that has been in effect for parts of the village of Canton and St. Lawrence University has been lifted.

The announcement was made of the village's Facebook page and website early on Friday afternoon.

The advisory was first put in place on Wednesday night after crews repaired two water main breaks.

A water pipe on Park Street burst during scheduled work and the village had to shut down water service to allow for repairs to take place.
