NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Political leaders across Tennessee are sharing polarizing reactions after President Donald Trump announced Friday morning that he will be sending the National Guard to Memphis.

The president said Memphis Mayor Paul Young and Gov. Bill Lee backed his decision to send in troops to address crime, according to the Associated Press .

It is unclear when the National Guard will arrive in Memphis or how many members will be sent there. WSMV has reached out to the National Guard for more information.
