NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk police are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian that happened on Thursday evening.

The incident happened in the 5800 block of Northampton Boulevard shortly before 9 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a pedestrian who had to be taken to a local hospital due to severe injuries.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

NPD's Traffic Safety Unit is currently investigating this incident.
