Brooks Nader started dating her ex-husband Billy Haire “just for rent purposes.”

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model reflected on getting into a relationship with Haire after leaving her small Louisiana hometown for a new life in New York City at just 19 years old.

“When I moved to New York, my dad was like, ‘You’re living a full-ride scholarship. I have no money to support your life in New York. You better find a boyfriend,’” Nader, 28, said in an interview with People published Wednesday.

She then joked, “Which I did, thank God, for just the rent purposes.”

Nader married Haire in 2019 when she was just 22 and he was 33. However, their marriage only lasted five years and we reported that they were ending their marriage in May 2024.
