When it comes to the game of geocaching, the world is your game board but, this month, the prizes are in the village of Burford.
A four-day gaming event called a mega icon – the only such event in Canada this year – is expected to draw more than 1,200 people to the fairgrounds in the small town in a celebration of everything to do with geocaching, including the chance to win $7,000 in prizes.

The entire community is invited to join in Fall Fest 2025 from Sept. 25-28.
“The Brantford trails already have hundreds and hundreds of geocaches,” said Amanda Saville about the hobby. “But we are hiding 380 new physical geocaches in the county, ranging from Ayr, Harley, Cainsville, St. George and Brantford.”
