A Florida woman has spoken out after saving her puppy from an alligator

Danie Wright said she punched the five-foot reptile after it tried to snatch up her 4-month-old puppy behind her house

A Florida woman is opening up about saving her puppy from the clutches of an attacking alligator.

Danie Wright said she had taken her 4-month-old dog Dax out behind her house in Land O’Lakes last week, moments before the attack occurred, according to CBS affiliate WTSP .

The woman said she was walking her dog along a stagnant creek covered in watermoss, which hid the alligator until it attacked, WTSP and fellow CBS affiliate WFOR-TV reported.
