Officers were called at about 6:47 p.m. to a location in the area of Goethe and Fairview streets near Mack and Beniteau for a report of an injured teen, according to authorities.
Police arrived, found the victim with a cut, and recovered a weapon, they said.
Detroit Police Cpl. Dan Donakowski, a spokesman for the department, said the youth was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition.
He said a preliminary investigation revealed the victim was cut during an argument with a group of teenagers. The suspect is still at large, Donakowski added.
