An album written and performed entirely in the Welsh language at one time may not have travelled far beyond Wales, but for the singer-songwriter Gruff Rhys it has become an intrinsic part of his international appeal.

The former frontman of the Super Furry Animals is often on tour in various parts of the world where he performs in Welsh and English and has come to be something of a cultural ambassador for Wales.

We went to meet him in his native North Wales as he prepared to release his fourth Welsh language album.
