OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - Marion County Public Schools officials are pushing back on allegations made by Sheriff Billy Woods that the district was refusing to allow gun-sniffing dogs in the elementary schools.

Marion County School Board chair Lori Conrad explained in a statement that the district’s search policies were crafted with input from the sheriff’s office legal team. The district’s policies focus on middle and high schools; however, she says elementary schools aren’t excluded.

On Thursday evening, Woods posted a lengthy video on social media touching on many topics, including the overturning of Florida’s open carry ban , the assassination of Charlie Kirk , and the 9/11 terrorist attacks .
