URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - OSF Healthcare is working to address its rehab bed needs amid the release of a recent report.

The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board released a report Thursday , which found that OSF's plan to cut certain services in Urbana could result in a shortage of seven rehab beds in Champaign and nearby areas.

The cuts are part of OSF's proposal to merge its Urbana and Danville locations into one hospital with two campuses.

The HFSRB did not indicate in its report whether OSF's plan is recommended for approval or denial ahead of the Sept. 25 meeting.

State staff stated that the services OSF plans to eliminate in Urbana are available at Carle Foundation Hospital, located one mile away.
