The Jackson Police Department announced in a Friday, Sept. 12 press release that a third suspect was arrested in connection to a fatal quadruple shooting that occurred in the city over Labor Day weekend.

Public Information Officer Tommie Brown said officers arrested Reginald Hayes, 19, on Friday. Hayes faces charges on two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault in connection to the shooting.

Jackson police said the shooting occurred at 11 p.m. Aug. 30 at 5627 Dogwood Trail. Victims, Roosevelt Denson Jr., 48, and Zacchaeus Daniel Johnson, 26 , both died from gunshot wounds.

Brown said upon arrival, officers located Denson deceased at the scene. Johnson later died at approximately 4:30 a.m. Aug. 31 at a local hospital, Brown said.
