“I think we all jumped at the thought of having a player like Jonathan even considering Winnipeg,” Lowry said. “It's a huge deal. It means a lot to the guys in the room.
Jets captain Adam Lowry is getting to know ex-Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews bit by bit, and here and there.
“I’ve been in solitary confinement on the other side of the ice, so I haven’t had the opportunity to get to see him out on the ice but talking to him throughout the summer and then getting to meet him for the first time here in the gym. Just getting to know him, it’s been great,” Lowry said.
Toews has 511 goals, and 883 assists in 1,067 regular-season games, played across 15 seasons. He won three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks and two Olympic gold medals with Team Canada, 2010 in Vancouver and 2014 in Sochi.
