Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson (15) looks to pass against UL Monroe at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The Wisconsin Badgers (2-0) and the No. 18 Alabama Crimson Tide (1-1) meet Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (ABC). Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's NCAA football odds around the Wisconsin vs. Alabama odds and make our expert college football picks and predictions for the best bets.

Alabama leads the all-time series 2-1, including a 42-10 victory in Madison last season on Sept. 14 as a 14-point favorite as the Over (47) cashed.

The Crimson Tide rebounded from a 31-17 loss at the Florida State Seminoles on Aug. 30, spanking the UL Monroe Warhawks in T-Town with a 73-0 win as 34-point favorites as the Over (50) easily cashed. The Tide rolled up 29 first downs with 583 total yards and 371 passing yards. Alabama averaged 11.2 yards per pass attempt, while posting 212 rushing yards and 5.9 yards per tote. It was a plus-3 in turnover differential, too.

Alabama QB Ty Simpson completed all 17 of his pass attempts for 226 yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTs, while also running for a score. RB AK Dear led the way with 5 runs for 76 yards and a TD, while WR Germie Bernard topped the charts with 3 receptions for a game-best 67 yards and 2 TDs.

Wisconsin won its opener 17-0 over the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks, while topping the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders 42-10 last week as a 28.5-point favorite as the Over (45) cashed. The Badgers had 486 total yards last week in the win over the Blue Raiders, with QB Danny O'Neil completing 23-of-27 passes for 283 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. He was making his first start after replacing QB Billy Edwards Jr., who was lost for the season in the win over Miami.

Wisconsin at Alabama picks and predictions

Prediction

Alabama 30, Wisconsin 13

Moneyline

Alabama (-2000) will cost you 20 times your potential return, and that's way too much risk for not nearly enough reward. A $100 bet on the Crimson Tide would net just $5 in profit if Alabama were to win.

Even if you tossed Alabama into a multi-leg parlay, you would need to make it at least an 8- to 10-teamer to make any sense whatsoever. Betting such huge favorites rarely comes with much in the way of quality reward.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

Back WISCONSIN +21 (-115).

Yes, Alabama worked over the Badgers in Madtown last season, but that was with a team which was much more established with QB Jalen Milroe at the controls.

While the Crimson Tide is at home, it will have a tough time against the suffocating defense of the Badgers. This won't be terribly close, but it won't be a rout like last season, either.

Over/Under

UNDER 45.5 (-110) is the lean, but go rather lightly.

The Over/Under has split in 2 games for the Badgers, and the defense hasn't given up much. In fact, it has allowed just 10 points total. Of course, that's in 2 games against Miami (Ohio) and Middle Tennessee, not exactly a gauntlet.

The Crimson Tide have gone Over in both games, once because of poor defense, and another time after running up the score on ULM. It should find the sledding much tougher against a Big Ten defense, especially with an offense still trying to find its footing.
