NEW YORK (WABC) -- Mayor Eric Adams' campaign says it will conduct its own independent poll to decide on whether he will continue in the race for New York City mayor.

Adams volunteered at a food pantry in the Bronx on Friday -- a campaign stop intended to demonstrate that his reelection effort is still on track.

But at a meeting with key business leaders this week, Adams said he would commission his own poll to determine whether he has any hope of winning.

"We're going to do our analysis, we're going to find out what's the right message for our voters, what they need to understand about what I've done in this city," Adams said.
