A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged with multiple offences in connection with a sexual assault in Renfrew, the Ontario Provincial Police reported Friday. Article content

A news release said the man had been apprehended by the Ottawa Police Service on Sept. 9 and was then transported to the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing that is to continue in Pembroke on Sept. 26. Article content Article content

The charges against the man include: assault; assault with a weapon; sexual assault; forcible confinement; overcoming resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle; pointing a firearm;
