WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Speaker Mike Johnson has appointed five Republicans to the newly formed January 6th subcommittee, with GOP Representative Barry Loudmaker leading the investigation.
Wyoming Congresswoman Harriet Hageman will also serve on the committee. Her involvement is significant as she replaced former Congresswoman Liz Cheney, who was part of the original committee.
The House Minority Leader announced the inclusion of three Democrats on the committee. However, Democrats largely believe the previous investigation was both concluded and unnecessary to revisit.
Republicans have stated that the new probe will focus on the security breach of the Capitol and intelligence failures.
