MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) — Hart County got a firsthand look at history Friday as the annual Civil War Days began at the Battlefield Preserve.

The three-day event, running through Sunday, features battle reenactments, living history camps, and interactive exhibits designed to immerse attendees in the Civil War era.

“We’ve got to remember our history, and that’s what it’s about,” said Greg Ard, executive director of Battles for the Bridge.

On Friday, students from local schools were invited to step back in time and experience history firsthand. Volunteers showcased artifacts from the era, conducted cannon demonstrations, and shared insights into Civil War military life.
