Before getting sober in 2017, Charlie Sheen battled with drug and alcohol addiction for decades. He shared new insights on his wild journey with substance abuse in the two-part Netflix documentary “aka Charlie Sheen.”
Sheen, now 60, rose to prominence in the 1980s with his roles in films including “Platoon,” “Wall Street,” “Young Guns,” “The Three Musketeers,” and “The Arrival.” Early in his career, he felt that he was able to party and use cocaine without losing out on any opportunities.
“I noticed that there was a pattern to go through all of this s—, come out of the fire, and [have] there be an opportunity on the immediate other side of it. It really flattened the concept of genuine consequences,” Sheen said in the Netflix doc, which premiered on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
