Akon and wife Tomeka Thiam are ending their marriage.

On Friday (September 12), it was revealed that Tomeka filed for divorce from the 52-year-old “Lonely” rapper just days before their 29th wedding anniversary, which is on September 15.

In her filing, Tomeka cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce, according to court documents obtained by TMZ Hip Hop .

Tomeka is seeking joint legal custody of their 17-year-old daughter, but wants sole physical custody of her.

She is also reportedly seeking spousal support and is asking to block the court’s ability to award any spousal support to Akon .
