OMAHA, Neb. —

On Friday, Mayor John Ewing Jr. and developers held a news conference, providing updates to the Crossroads project.

They said the construction has started on the development.

Ewing also announced that he wanted to start community listening sessions with neighbors of the project.

Developers said that they are now working on the site of the first retail and events space Gamescapes by Cinemark.

They said the space should be finished in late 2026 or early 2027.

Woodbury Corporation is also working to lease more retail space, and they said they have been talking with several retailers new to the Omaha area.

Speakers at the news conference said that since construction has begun, Omaha residents will be seeing results.
