BELVIDERE, Ill. — A Belvidere man was given serious drug-related charges on Wednesday.

48-year-old Shawn L. Hartman was found guilty of Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine and Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine by a Boone County jury on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

On June 6, 2024, the Stateline Area Narcotics Team executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Fremont St. in Belvidere. Hartman was inside the house at the time of the search.

Officers found large amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine. They also uncovered evidence Hartman was selling these substances.

Hartman faces a sentence of 9-40 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. He will be sentenced on Nov. 14 at 9:00 a.m.
