Seven teens are facing criminal charges after an alleged assault in Sooke.

On July 3, Sooke RCMP was contacted by the family of a youth, who had allegedly been "severely assaulted" by a group of teens near the 6660 block of Goodmere Road on the evening of July 2.

"The victim required medical care as a result," Sooke RCMP said in a news release. "The assault was also filmed and shared on social media. Investigators gathered evidence which led to the identification of seven youth who participated in the assault."

Warrants for the teens' arrests were soon obtained, and all suspects have since been located and arrested.
