OHIO VALLEY (WTRF) - If there is a beloved nurse in your life, there is a special way to honor them upon their death.

The Nightingale Tribute is a small ceremony that can be performed at their funeral to commemorate their career as a registered nurse and their commitment to their patients and their profession.

It involves reading a tribute, lighting a candle and placing a white rose in the casket. The nurse coordinator performs the ceremony.

The family can ask the funeral director is this is available. The funeral director may ask them. And they will call our coordinator for the Nightingale Tribute and arrangements will be made to go to the funeral home or go to the church, wherever the services are being held, and we will perform this ceremony for our colleague."
