KLEIN, Texas — The Klein Independent School District on Friday announced it has fired an employee for making "senseless and completely unacceptable remarks" on the assassination of Charlie Kirk .

"Effective immediately, this individual's employment with Klein ISD has been terminated," the district wrote on social media. "This conduct does not reflect the values, standards, or expectations of our school district and will never be tolerated."

Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative political activist and media personality, was shot and killed while at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

"The loss of human life to violence is not only heartbreaking, it is a painful reminder of the deep need for compassion, peace, and respect in our world," Klein ISD said.
