Dallas Police confirmed Friday the arrest of a 21-year-old man as the driver in a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed a promising young comedian in Deep Ellum last month.
Henry Cruz, 29, was walking home with friends in a grassy area along Elm Street after seeing a show on Aug. 23 when he was fatally struck by a vehicle that left the road while exiting Interstate 345.
Dallas Police investigators said 21-year-old Angel Vergara Rojas was arrested and faces a count of death involving a collision.
Online records indicated Rojas was booked into the Dallas County Jail on Sept. 3. He was not listed as an inmate on Friday on the county’s jail search.
