After nearly a decade, the moms of Monterey are ready to reunite for Season 3 of Big Little Lies .

Reese Witherspoon , who executive produces and stars as Madeline Mackenzie in the HBO drama, recently gave an update on the long-awaited return of the show after Deadline exclusively reported that Season 3 is in the works .

“We might be working on Season 3,” she said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . “Yeah, I mean, they’re writing it. It’s exciting too, just to get the gang back together and have everybody start talking about it. It’s really fun.”

Witherspoon acknowledged that it’s “been a minute” since she got all her co-stars together after Season 2 concluded in 2019, following the 2017 premiere of the show based on Liane Moriarty ‘s 2014 novel.
