Junior Wyatt Gilmour and senior Andres Hernandez scored goals as the Wood River Wolverines boys soccer team registered a 2-1 victory over the Twin Falls Bruins in Idaho Class 5A Great Basin Conference action on Wednesday at Founders Field in Hailey.

“It’s always good to get win over Twin—a perennial rival,” said Wolverines Head Coach Greg Gvozdas. “Getting the home victory was important.”

The Wolverines built their attack throughout the first half of the contest as Gilmour headed off a free kick from the left side of the 18-yard box in the 28th minute for the opening goal of the game.

“We’re always trying to look to attack on corner kicks and free kicks,” Gvozdas said. “It was bouncing around, so it was good for Wyatt to get his head on it.”
