LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - As people start to see the fall foliage coming in and notice a drop in temperature, it means fall is upon us. However, it also means cold and flu season is right around the corner.
Estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that around 40 million people were affected by the flu in 2024.
Valerie Bates was one of them. She said her symptoms included puking, coughing, sweating, and chills. But she was able to recover on her own.
“[I would] wrap in lots of blankets, stay under the covers, and sweat it out,” Bates said.
