We've got a significant weather pattern developing that will bring some very hot and dry conditions to our region.

We're already feeling the warmth, but things are set to ramp up considerably starting this Sunday and continuing through much of the upcoming week. Models indicate an area of high pressure building over the Mississippi Valley, which will essentially lock in this oppressive heat.

We're looking at temperatures that are not just warm, but running several degrees above what's considered normal for this time of year. By Sunday, and continuing through at least Wednesday, we expect daytime highs to reach into the mid to upper 90s, which is about 10 degrees warmer than average.
