ProMedica Flower Hospital plans to move its obstetrics program to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, the health system announced Friday.
The transition is expected to take place by the end of the year, and details are forthcoming, according to a news release.
ProMedica leadership says consolidating the OB programs will enhance Toledo’s inpatient services and allow other services to expand at Flower.
“This planned transition is an important step in enhancing our inpatient obstetric services and attracting more providers to our OB program,” Kay Smith, vice president of provider operations at ProMedica, said in the release. “It will better equip us to meet future needs and reinforce our commitment to delivering the highest quality of care.”
Outpatient OB services will continue on the Flower Hosp
