JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (TRIBUNE) – The Alabama Department of Transportation has announced planned right lane closures on US-280 Eastbound and Westbound for widening work between Milepost 1.39 (SR-149/Shades Creek Parkway) and Milepost 4.51 (I-459 Interchange).

Lane closures will begin Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., with all lanes expected to reopen by 6:00 a.m. Monday, September 15, weather permitting. Similar closures will occur nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. through Friday, September 19, 2025.

Motorists are urged to use alternate routes, adjust travel times, obey work zone speed limits, and exercise caution while driving through the area.
