OLYMPIA, Wash. – Governor Bob Ferguson has expressed serious concerns regarding upcoming health insurance rate hikes that will impact thousands of Washingtonians.

The governor highlighted changes brought about by the Big Beautiful Bill and the expiration of enhanced premium tax credits as key factors in the situation. More than 280,000 people in Washington are facing significant increases in health insurance costs. These rate increases are set to take effect on January 1.

"This is all morally bankrupt. It is totally upside down. I say that as a governor, obviously. I say that as the father of teenagers. I say that as an American. I say that as a person of faith," Governor Ferguson stated.
