ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY)- A year after the death of her son, 20-year-old Javaris Ellis, Christy Ellis is pleading for help in St. Landry Parish, questioning the ruling of his death as a suicide.
Javaris Ellis was found dead in a field behind a trailer on Compress Road on Sept. 11 of last year. The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office ruled his death a suicide, but Christy Ellis believes there is more to be uncovered in the investigation.
Since then, the family of Javaris has been grieving, but also searching for answers. Javaris' mother, Christy Ellis, said she believes her son was shot from behind and said the bullet was behind his head, just above his ear.
"They say he committed suicide, no he didn't, he was shot behind his head, my son don't even like his foot wet," said Ellis.
