Sainsbury's has recalled two products due to concerns they might be contaminated with E.coli.

The supermarket giant has recalled JS Classic Houmous and JS Lemon & Coriander Houmous due to concerns batches may contain Shiga toxin-producing E. coli, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The affected batches are 8001352 and 8062998, with use-by dates of September 13 and 14 respectively.

The FSA recall states: "The products listed above might be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC). Symptoms caused by this organism include diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloody diarrhoea, and haemolytic uremic syndrome, a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure and can be fatal.
