PHOENIX — Erika Kirk, the widow of political activist Charlie Kirk, vowed to continue his legacy in her first remarks since her husband was assassinated.

"The movement my husband built will not die. I refuse to let that happen," Erika Kirk said while standing next to the empty chair where Charlie Kirk usually sat while broadcasting his show.

She began her speech with a prayer and then thanked the staffers at Charlie Kirk's show, law enforcement, and first responders. She also had a message for the suspect in the murder.

"The evildoers responsible for my husband's assassination have no idea what they have done." Erika Kirk said. "If you thought that my husband's mission was powerful before, you have no idea. You have no idea what you have just unleashed across this entire country."
