GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY— Starting Monday, people around the state can learn all about composting as they head into fall during the The Great Michigan Compost Tour.
The event is hosted by the Michigan Recycling Coalition and the Michigan Organics Council.
SEEDS partnered with the coalition to coordinate 10 stops on the tour in Northern Michigan during the week for what they call the Compost Crawl.
Katelyn Kikstra, the EcoStrategies Program Manager at SEEDS, tells us “These tours are for anyone. You don’t have to be someone that’s actively composting or even knows a lot about it. That’s the purpose of the tour, is just to welcome everybody. If you’re a professional, we also encourage you to come out and hear what other folks are doing so that we can all learn together,”
