CROWN POINT — The family of Grace Norris has thought about an abundance of "what if" questions since the 19-year-old was killed more than two years ago in a car crash.

"What was her last thought?" her aunt, Cara Gelet, said, reading a statement in court written by one of Grace Norris' sisters. "Did she even have time to see it coming? These are questions that haunt my family every day."

While Grace Norris' family may never get answers to their questions, they had the opportunity to tell 46-year-old Christine Mefford about the life she took when she drove recklessly July 4, 2023 , causing a head-on collision with the vehicle Grace Norris, of DeMotte, was driving in the 7000 block of East 117th Avenue in Winfield. Mefford was sentenced Friday to five years in Grace Norris
