TBI is investigating after a man was killed and a Bartlett officer was wounded during a Memphis drug raid early Thursday.

Investigators say the shooting happened around 6:12am in the 1700 block of Dellwood Avenue as Bartlett police, DEA agents, and TBI drug investigators served a search warrant in an ongoing narcotics case.

Authorities say 76-year-old Augusto Columbie fired a gun at officers as they entered the home. At least one officer returned fire, killing him.

A Bartlett officer was also hit and taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries, TBI says.
