ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – There is a decision in a last-minute court battle aimed at shaking up the race for Albuquerque City Council, challenging the validity of signatures tied to two of those candidates. The hearing got off to a hectic start Friday morning as the judge on the case found out he had to make a decision today.

That heated both sides over how to resolve a last-minute argument over who would make it to the November ballot. "A 3:00 a.m. motion for summary judgment feels like a strategic attempt to hijack the presentation of evidence in our case. Mr. Ring, please do not interrupt me," said attorney Jacob Candelaria.

"Hang on a second here, folks, I will be in charge of the court proceedings," said Judge Joshua Allison.
