TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Former Brevard County School Board Member Jennifer Jenkins is the leading democratic candidate taking on Republican Sen. Ashley Moody ahead of the next election.

“We are facing an affordability crisis, and I feel like people in Washington have absolutely no idea what that feels like, but I do,” Jenkins said.

Jenkins hopes to take a different perspective to Capitol Hill.

“I'm a regular person who was an educator, married to a teacher,” Jenkins said.

The former school board member started "Educated We Stand" in 2024 to oppose the educational direction from conservative group Moms for Liberty and the DeSantis administration.
