Charlie Kirk's wife stressed his love for the Chicago Cubs hours after the team honored the conservative activist by flying flags at half-staff and holding a moment of reflection.
In her first public remarks since Charlie Kirk was assassinated during a campus event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, Erika Kirk said, in part, "...He loved the Chicago Cubs, and my goodness, did he love the Oregon Ducks..."
Earlier in the day, the team paid tribute to the Prospect Heights native before taking on the Tampa Bay Rays at Wrigley Field and called for an end to all political violence.
"On Wednesday, political activist, a lifelong Cubs fan and Chicago-area native was killed at a public gathering in Utah, leaving behind his wife and two young children," the announcer said prior to the game
