A 48-year-old man suspected of possession of a firearm and methamphetamine was arrested Friday in Blythe.
Joshua Adam Hampton was arrested and booked into Blythe Jail Friday on suspicion of possession of a loaded firearm and felony possession of narcotics. His bail was set at $25,000.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of North Ninth Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. While speaking with one of the vehicle’s occupants, a passenger, Hampton, told authorities he had a firearm, sheriff’s officials said.
Hampton was detained without incident and deputies allegedly retrieved a loaded .22-caliber handgun from him and about 8 grams of meth, according to the department.
