FOREST ACRES, S.C. — Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a Thursday night shooting outside The Landings Apartments on Covenant Road in Forest Acres.
Jaylon D. Holmes, 17, and Wendell Holmes, 17, have each been charged as adults with attempted murder. Police say one of the suspects lives at nearby Ravenwood Apartments. Both are being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Forest Acres police said they received a 911 call at 7:26 p.m. Thursday reporting a shooting. Officers say they arrived three minutes later and found an adult male with four gunshot wounds. Despite the injuries, the victim is expected to survive.
Forest Acres Police Chief Don Robinson said the shooting appeared to be an isolated crime of opportunity involving people who knew each other.
