BURLINGTON, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - Over one year ago, UVM's Graduate Student Union (GSU) began negotiating with the university. On Wednesday the union filed a charge of unfair labor practice, saying the university had used "tactics designed to frustrate and delay" instead of making a good-faith effort to sit down at the table.
UVM graduate students began initial steps to form a union back in 2023. The union was certified in April 2024 and began negotiating on a contract in August, as United Auto Workers, Local 2322. The video below shows the union's rally celebrating the start of bargaining.
