TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs issued an Executive Order expanding access to the Covid-19 vaccine.
Currently, individuals in Arizona are required to have a prescription to receive the vaccine from a pharmacist. The Executive Order authorizes the Arizona Department of Health to issue a standing order that serves as a prescription for people, giving them greater accessibility to the vaccine.
Last month, the FDA approved a new round of Covid vaccines for limited populations, including those over the age of 65 or with other immunocompromising health conditions. This differs from previous rounds, which were widely available for anyone over the age of 6 months.
