HARTFORD, Conn. — A man died in Hartford on Friday evening after being shot, according to a release from the city’s police department.

The fatal shooting took place around 6:52 p.m.

Members of the Hartford Police Department made their way to the area of 389 Broadview Terrace after receiving a report of a person having been shot.

There, they found the victim, who was described as a man in his 30s.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Hartford police initially listed him as being in critical condition around 7:40 p.m.

Just over an hour later, however, Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert issued a release noting that the man lost his life.

A homicide investigation is currently underway.
