PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) — A now-former therapeutic staff member at a West Valley school is facing charges after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a special needs student.

On Wednesday, a grand jury indicted 24-year-old Charlotte Huesby on two felony charges for sexual conduct with a minor and one felony count of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Peoria police responded to the Austin Centers for Exceptional Students (ACES) campus, near 67th Avenue and Cactus Road, on Aug. 28 after the school ‘s superintendent discovered inappropriate messages between Huesby and a 17-year-old student.

According to the ACES website, the campus refers to itself as a “private special education school serving students in grades K-12 with a wide range of disabilities.”
